Jul. 2nd, 2005 08:48 pmTonight I had what I consider the best summer dinner. European style bread, stinky goat's cheese and olives. Oh man, am I a food snob or what?
Today I got none of my chores done. Wanted to pay my phone bill at the vodafone shop, but they just let me sit there for 45 min waiting for the people to CREATE NEW ACCOUNTS WHICH TAKES AN HOUR. I mean, it takes like 5 min to pay a bill. They should have someone there for that sort of transactional stuff. And I wanted to send a letter, but I thought that the post office had a stamp dispenser or something, which was a total misconception. So neither of those goals were accomplished.
I did then proceed to spend too much money in Omiya. The Loft had sale bins in each department and I went a little crazy with the buying for the house. Most exciting purchase (to me) are the new curtains! I hated hated hated the old ones, and now they are gone! whee. I'll show ya'll a photo when my camera finishes charging. Also bought a mini carpet to put under the desk so it stops destroying the tatami (someone who lived here before decided that cork coasters under each leg were gonna be good enough...right).
Also bought a sketch book and a set of these mini colored pencils. I figured that I should start taking one with me wherever I go so that I can start sketching like the cool outcast girls do in movies. The mini pencils are in a little tin about the size of an altiods box. even came with their own special sharpener.
Yey for curtains! I swear the other ones were slowly driving me insane a la "The Wallpaper."
