What is Up with That?
Dec. 31st, 2007 03:28 amI just heard on the news that JK Rowling is contemplating writing an 8th Harry Potter book.... but not for 10 years, and it wouldn't star Harry. Oh Brother.
Other weird media stuff I've discovered, the actor who plays sylar on heroes is going to play young spock!? As if the idea of "going back in time to meet our young selves" wasn't cheesy enough, somehow this makes it cheesier. I don't quite understand why.
I watched the Sound of Music again today on tv. I miss good movies. My father and I talk about what the fate of the big screen will be in the future. with everyone upgrading to big screen HDTV and DVD's coming out mere months after theatrical release, we agree going out to the movies is in trouble. Without movies coming out in the theaters, my dad thinks there will be a drop off in the quality of media produced, i.e. low cost reality shows and direct to dvd garbage. I think that if movies die, we'll see more high production tv shows like we've seen already so far like lost and heroes. What do all of you think?
