How strange and sad
Jan. 12th, 2010 12:42 pmI just got an email from the woman who hired me at New Paltz two months ago informing me that she has passed away.
She was just at the conference in Baltimore, and I was going to go see her talk, but ended up napping around that time instead. I was really looking forward to working from her since she seemed like a really amazing woman. But I guess she was a lot older than I even thought, and I wonder what's going to happen now that she is no longer there. She was trying to materialize a Linguistics major for the school, and really seemed like she was well on the way to success.
Hopefully, her wishes will be carried on, and if I have any say in the matter I will certainly push for it too.

Thank you for everything Dr. Margaret Wade-Lewis, even in the short time we knew one another.
