End of the semester is coming
Apr. 26th, 2010 04:43 pmAnd I haven't totally lost my mind. Maybe just once or twice. Actually, I moved the car this morning so my mother could get out of the driveway and take me to the train station, but when I ran back into the house to get an umbrella I realized that I had left the car on! That's pretty bad as far as lost minds go. But I am not super stressed out, but I am also not being as productive as I should be. I finished Brutal Legend on the Xbox this weekend instead of outlining my presentation for Syntax. I will surely pay for that. Thankfully, I have plenty of time to finish my final projects, so maybe it won't be too bad.
This week marks the last time I have to drive down to Queens and run participants for the experiment I am helping out with. Driving to Queens from Dutchess County is one of the biggest pains in the ass ever. Getting to Brooklyn must be even worse. My dad tells me this is exactly why we never took any vacations out to Long Island (in addition to the many other good reasons not to want to go there.) I literally have to leave three hours before I'm supposed to be there in order to make it with ample time for ridiculousness which happens on the road. blech. And there is no convenient public transportation to Queens College at all, I have looked. It's a train to manhattan, a subway, a bus and then a 15 minute walk to get there. Which is at least the same if not more of a headache than the driving is. But it's almost over! Yey!
Mom and I have come up with a plan for the rearrangement of the study upstairs. I need to finish painting the walls, and then we will play a little musical furnitures to spiff it up.
Off to the library anyway.
