I can't wait to finish these cherubs for Kumiko and give them to her already. they make me want to puke, even though I drew them. I did a really good job, that's the only consolation. By tommorrow Siobhan and Maya should get my letters, I hope I get a good response. I'm currently working on a rough draft of a final paper, and then hopefully moving on the memorizing my japanese skit, then the stupid cherubs again, and then possibly reading a good book....
The other day, the Japanese girl that I was looking for apartments with called (you remember the one, she found some other Japanese girl to live with in the end), she finally decided to get around to telling me Atsushi's e-mail address. I had guessed it my then, however, and I sent him an e-mail already, and he didn't send me a damn thing in response, so fuck him if he doesn't want to be nice. I didn't do anything to him other than hate his company, I mean, really. But that wasn't the point of the story, actually, the point was that there were these really akward and annoying pauses in the conversation, not to mention she said quite a few things that made me believe when we were looking for an apartment, she understood next to nothing of what I said. She also exuded a bitchyness on the phone, so I guess it's a really good thing I didn't live with her in the end. Also it's a good testament why her and Astushi were such good friends. they are the kind of people that wish to be in new situations, and believe themselves to be extreemly open people, but when push comes to shove, they only hang out with people who came from the same place as them, and do all they can to just ecreate the situation they had at home. So then if you want to be close to them, all they can do is wonder "why can't they be more this, or do that, blah blah blah." Meaning, why can't they be more (in my example) Japanese?
Aggrivating... but, it's really great to know that it's a personality falw on their part, because Kumiko and other Japanese friends I have are really cool. ^_^
