Jul. 10th, 2006 09:03 amMy return date has been decided. Aug. 9th. My first choice was the 10th, but I guess you can't have everything. Whatever, it's just a day, right?
Saturday I went to a BBQ in Kitamoto with my Saturday eikawa class. It was really sad to say goodbye to them, even though they were a pain in my ass. I still like all of them despite that.
There were some American high schoolers at my BBQ too. They spent most of their time trying to run away from the old Japanese people. Suzuki Sensei was annoyed. From her perspective, she did them a favor and let them come. From their perspective, they would have rather stayed home. That's ok, things being forced on you builds character. They asked me how you know when you've pissed a Japanese person off (because usually they won't show it or tell you). And honestly, it's not usually that hard. Not participating in the party and running off hiding away is usually pretty annoying behavior even in America I think. Or at least extremely anti-social.
Sunday was another BBQ, this time with my Japanese family the Asami's. As always it was great. Lot's of food and laughs. There was a festival last night here as well, and more than a handful of students saw me with Hideki. Ah oh well, guess that cat is out of the bag. Hehe. I wore my new yukata too. I'll post pictures of it later. It's really nice.
So back at work now, doing nothing and having my classes canceled. Fun.
