The Holy Grail
Jan. 27th, 2007 11:02 pmLast night my father and I helped make Bardavon history. They played Monty Python's "Holy Grail," and it was the first sold out movie performance they've had. It's actually the first time I have seen the whole thing beginning to end, and of course, there were hundreds of jokes that I just didn't catch, get, or comprehend on the first viewing. That's why people watch it a hundred times, eh?
As amusing as the movie was, the best laugh I got was not from the movie. My mother is an avid knitter, and she likes to try all the new trends. The newest thing she's tried is felting. First you knit whatever it is you want with this special yarn, then you pop it in the washing machine where the fibers all blend together and it comes out like a solid piece of felt. She had made a purse, maroon, it came out nice and thick. When my dad saw it before we left, he commented that it looked like a Russian Cossack hat. I agreed. Next thing I know while I'm warming up the car, my father sits next to me, and I look up and see he's wearing his new "hat!!"
