Sep. 5th, 2004 11:08 pmI want a cordless phone (cause it'll make my life complete ^_~) but they are all SO expensive here. The cheapest I've seen is 8000 yen! What the bloody hell!? I think I have to ask my father to send me one. I mean, this is just not possible. I am not going to pay more than $80 for a phone. No friggin' way. Especially when I've spent my share of "gifts to myself" money for this month. I have to think about the best way for me to transfer money into my bank at home, so that I can't see what's accumulating in there.
My second day of classes went better than the first, yey. But now I have to think of what to do with the second lesson I have with the 2nd and 3rd years. I thought about doing some kind of grammer with them, but the thing is that they probably want to do something fun. So I came up with some little dialogues with American slang for them to use. I hope they find it interesting. I find it frustrating that I don't have enough time with these kids to really help them on finer grammar points, which I think is what I would be really good at. But probably with time I'll be able to find ways to incorporate it into my lessons. I'm still feeling the waters now.
I ate lunch with the kids on Friday, but they didn't really talk to me much. I feel like I'm boring to them. But I have to keep my head up! Maybe they are just shy…..
